Founded in 1920, Thackston School is the oldest private day school in Knoxville. More than half of the faculty members hold graduate degrees. Our location provides easy access to the University of Tennessee and downtown Knoxville. Third generation children now attend Thackston. After-school gives students opportunity to experience enrichment activities, i.e., Kinderdance®, art discovery workshop, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Piano, Fun Time Gymnastics Bus, sewing, chess club, and science discovery. 120 students. Average class size: Kindergarten-5th grade 1-15, Preschool-Pre-Kindergarten 1-10. State approved.
