The K-5th Grade curriculum at Thackston School follows, and most often exceeds, the standards outlined by the TN State Department of Education for each subject area. Through field trips, hands-on activities, guest speakers, projects, and other enriching activities, the curriculum is embellished to peak student interest and foster critical thinking skills. In addition to the core subjects, Thackston employs specialist teachers to provide Spanish, Sign Language, Art, Music, Computer, Manners and Etiquette, and Physical Education. As a measure of academic achievement, Thackston students consistently score above the national average on standardized tests.
